From Reactive Rescue Dog to Confident Companion
Yogi’s Story
When Yogi arrived in his new home after being rescued from the widely publicised Save A Paw case, he was underweight, frightened and struggling to trust the world around him.
His owner faced significant challenges, including fear-based reactivity around other dogs and a lack of confidence in everyday situations.
Through a bespoke rehabilitation programme, practical coaching and the dedication of his owner, Yogi gradually learned that the world was no longer something to fear.
Today, he can calmly work around other dogs, remain engaged with his handler and enjoy life as a confident companion in his forever home.
His transformation was later recognised by the Save A Paw Dogs Campaign Group, who shared Yogi’s progress and highlighted the dedication, commitment and rehabilitation work that helped him succeed.

“I highly recommend Danielle and her company to anyone having issues with their dogs.
I discovered her by accident, after finding the vet recommended trainer was going to charge me simply to read my initial email!
My dog Yogi is a highly reactive Presa Canario, who came from a rogue rescue called Save a Paw in Essex (Google it if you dare). I didn't and still don't know much about his past. I know he was likely used in dog fighting, was starved and beaten, was forced to live with dead and dying dogs and he was terrified when he was left alone.
Danielle came to visit him and watched his interactions and general demeanour, and over the course of eight lessons has taught him a number of quite basic commands which have worked incredibly well.
At first I was sceptical at how these were possibly going to address his issues, but amazingly they have. Gone are the days of growling, lunging and being almost unmanageable even if the dog is across the road. He is now completely content walking past, and quite often crossing the road is now no longer necessary.
The training requires a lot of work from the owners so it won't be a quick or easy fix, but what you get taught in the practical sessions are very easy to do day to day, and in Yogi's case at least, he was very quick to learn and adapt to his new routines.
I encourage everyone to visit her social media pages and see the difference in Yogi over just a few months. It is simply incredible and his new behaviour has been noticed by a lot of regular people that he meets in the local area.”

“We could not recommend Danielle enough! We have two Dobermans, Oakley and Ava, who became extremely challenging to walk together as Ava started to become very protective and anxious. This resulted in constantly pulling like a train, barking at everything we saw and lost all sense of recall.
Danielle recommended 8 sessions, her calm and relaxed approach massively boosted myself, my wife’s and my dogs confidence from the beginning. Her positivity and ability to adapt training to each dog’s needs is second to none. Danielle has excellent communication, always checking in with us during each week between our sessions and constantly giving us feedback on where to go next.
We are now well on our way to walking our dogs side by side with no pulling at all and very limited reactivity. With the massive progress made with Danielle and now with everything she’s taught us, I’m 100% confident that in the coming months we’ll have our dogs near to as perfect as we would ever want them on their walk.
We couldn’t be more proud of Oakley and Ava in how far they’ve came in little time and all our thanks are owed to Danielle.”

“Where do I even start?! Danielle is the most amazing dog trainer and person. Her kind and positive outlook was exactly what I was looking for when trying to find someone to help with my Hugo.
Before Danielle, our walks were increasingly getting more stressful for both myself and Hugo, and she has absolutely managed to change this around with everything she has taught us.
On our initial appointment Danielle was able to see that Hugo was lacking confidence and having anxiety around lots of things, which made complete sense. Each work session was worked around Hugo’s feelings and how he was the previous session, to allow us to always have positive sessions! Her communication between sessions and step by step guides were a life saver, and have completely changed the way I work with Hugo and I can truly say the difference is unbelievable!
Danielle’s skills and knowledge are undeniable and I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone who is thinking about starting training with their doggy, you really will see the difference!
We are both going to miss her so much!.
Does This Sound Familiar?
Perhaps your dog barks or lunges at other dogs, reacts to people, struggles to settle at home or seems overwhelmed by everyday life.
Maybe walks have become stressful instead of enjoyable, visitors are difficult to manage, or you’re feeling frustrated because you’ve tried everything and nothing seems to be working.
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
Living with a dog who is struggling can be emotionally exhausting, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. With the right guidance, understanding and a personalised training plan, positive change is possible.
At East Coast Dog Training, I specialise in helping owners understand the reasons behind their dog’s behaviour, not just manage the symptoms. Using kind, reward-based methods and practical coaching, I’ll help you build confidence, strengthen your relationship with your dog and create lasting results.
Whether your dog struggles with reactivity, anxiety, confidence, frustration or other behavioural challenges, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence.
Meet Danielle
Hi, I'm Danielle, founder of East Coast Dog Training.
Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by them sparked a passion that eventually became my career, and today I feel incredibly fortunate to spend every day helping owners build happier, more rewarding relationships with their dogs.
My journey began by running my own pet care business for two years, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages and personalities. It was during this time that I realised my real passion lay in behaviour and training, leading me to establish East Coast Dog Training.
Over the past five years, I've dedicated myself to helping owners overcome behavioural challenges, with a particular focus on reactivity, confidence-building and creating practical, lasting results in everyday life.
I believe every dog is an individual, which is why I don't offer one-size-fits-all training plans. Instead, every programme is tailored to the unique needs of both the dog and their owner, providing clear guidance, ongoing support and realistic solutions that work in the real world.
Alongside my practical experience, I'm committed to continually developing my knowledge through professional education. I'm proud to be a Certified Dog Trainer through the Dog Training College, a qualified Canine Reactivity Specialist, a certified Reactive Rascals Instructor, and have completed further training in canine body language and behaviour.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing owners regain confidence, enjoy walks again, and watch their dogs thrive. Whether you're raising a new puppy or navigating more complex behavioural challenges, my goal is to provide the support, knowledge and encouragement you need every step of the way.
I look forward to helping you and your dog begin that journey together.
